How it works

  1. Step 1

    Review and recommend

We look at how you sell, buy, hold stock and report, then recommend software that fits your size and budget, with the reasons in writing.

  2. Step 2

    Configure

We set up the chart of accounts, VAT codes, invoice templates, users and integrations so the system matches UAE requirements and your workflow.

  3. Step 3

    Migrate and test

We bring in opening balances, open items and master data from your old system, then test invoices, payments and reports before you rely on them.

  4. Step 4

    Go live and train

We switch you over on an agreed cut-over date and train each user on the tasks they will do every day.

  5. Step 5

    Support after go-live

We check your first month-end close in the new system and fix any setup issues that show up once real transactions flow through.

Choosing the right software

Zoho Books is a cloud package widely used by UAE SMEs. It handles invoicing, expenses, bank feeds and VAT reporting, and connects with other Zoho apps for inventory and CRM. It suits service businesses and small traders that want a simple system.

QuickBooks Online is another cloud option that works well for service businesses, agencies and consultants. Tally, now sold as TallyPrime, is common among trading companies in the UAE, especially those with detailed inventory and many invoices, and many accountants in the region already know it.

Odoo is a modular ERP. Accounting sits alongside inventory, sales, purchasing, manufacturing and CRM in one system. It can replace several separate tools, but it needs more planning and setup. We recommend the software that fits your business today and the next few years, not the most complex option.

What a good setup includes

The chart of accounts is the foundation. It should separate the income and costs you want to track, support your VAT return and make corporate tax adjustments easy to find. A poorly designed chart is hard to fix once a year of data is in it.

VAT settings need care: the right tax codes for standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt and out-of-scope supplies, your TRN on invoices, and reports that match the VAT return boxes. We test each code with sample transactions before go-live.

We also set up controls. Each user gets only the access they need, purchases and payments above an agreed amount need approval, and locked periods stop anyone changing figures after a VAT return has been filed.

Getting your system ready for e-invoicing

The UAE is introducing mandatory e-invoicing. Per current Ministry of Finance (MoF) guidance, businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more had to appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Businesses below AED 50 million must appoint a provider by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. Check for updates, as guidance can change.

Under the new model, your software must produce structured invoice data and pass it to your provider. Some packages offer built-in connectors and others need middleware. When we recommend or set up software, we check how it will connect to an Accredited Service Provider.

Data quality matters as much as the software. Customer TRNs, addresses, item descriptions and tax codes need to be complete and consistent. We clean this data during migration so you do not have to fix it under deadline pressure later.

Data migration without losing history

We agree a cut-over date with you, usually the start of a financial year or a VAT quarter, so reporting periods stay clean. From that date, all new transactions go into the new system.

As a minimum we migrate opening balances, open customer and supplier invoices, and your customer, supplier and item lists. If you need full transaction history in the new system, we can bring that across too, at an extra cost that depends on volume.

Keep access to your old system or a full export of it. You must keep accounting and tax records for at least 7 years, and the FTA or an auditor may ask for records from before the switch.

Questions about accounting software and ERP setup

Which accounting software is best for small businesses in the UAE?

It depends on your business. Zoho Books and QuickBooks suit most small service businesses, Tally is popular with trading companies, and Odoo suits businesses that need inventory, sales and accounting in one system. We recommend based on your needs.

How much does it cost to set up accounting software in Dubai?

Our setup projects start from AED 2,000 one-off (excl. VAT). The price depends on the software, data migration and integrations. Software subscription fees are separate from our setup fee.

Can you move my data from Tally or Excel?

Yes. We migrate opening balances, open invoices and master data from Tally, Excel or other systems, and can bring full history across if you need it.

Will my accounting software work with UAE e-invoicing?

It needs to produce structured invoice data and connect to an Accredited Service Provider. We check your current software and tell you what changes, connectors or upgrades are needed.

How long does an accounting software setup take?

A simple cloud setup for a small business can often be done within a few weeks. ERP projects with inventory, several entities or custom workflows take longer. We give you a timeline after the review.

Do you train our staff?

Yes. We train each user on their own tasks, such as invoicing, entering bills or running reports, and leave short written guides for later reference.
