How do I calculate 5% VAT in the UAE?
Multiply the price before VAT by 0.05 to get the VAT, or by 1.05 to get the total including VAT.
How do I remove VAT from a price?
Divide the VAT-inclusive price by 1.05 to get the amount before VAT. The difference is the VAT.
Do prices shown to consumers have to include VAT?
Yes. In the UAE, prices advertised to consumers must generally be shown inclusive of VAT.
